Ramadhan Kareem 1432H buat semua

Salam buat semua pengunjung yang beragama Islam.

Setelah hampir 3 bulan sejak entri terdahulu, kini dah bulan puasa baru lah nak tambah entri terbaru.

New beginning

New semester just begun with new spirit and energy. I'm quite busy with few university programs. I'm currently the head committee multimedia for 3 events which are 2nd IIUM Humanitarian Week, Islamic Performing Arts Concert (IPAC) and also International Angklung Concert. In these 3 big university events, I hope I can delegate my work well so that I can concentrate as well on my studies. I know I wanted my work to be on every multimedia stuff but sometimes I feel quite boring to see my design or my style. Different people different style and that adds variety.

OK, that's all about university program. Back to my studio life, we need to organize an exhibition based on our heritage and contemporary studies in Singapore and JB last time. Apart of the exhibition, we also need to have side events. This sounds like KAED Fest but in a smaller scale and I'm not the Program Manager anymore. I was appointed to organize a side event which is originally a Zapin Competition. Since most universities are still having their vacation, I've changed it to Traditional Dance Challenge which is open for secondary school around Selangor and KL. But since both students and teachers are on their holidays, my last resort would be a stage performance of traditional and modern.

Next is my personal life. I think its getting better. We've known each other for more than 8 months and our friendship is getting stronger day by day. I hope this will last for good, InsyaAllah.

There are few more things that I'll add up for the new year wish list. I wanna upgrade my machine and maybe a goodbye to Blogger and hi to my own domain with Wordpress engine.

Taaruf Week Nov 07/08

From left: Ecah, Me, Hashimi, Syed (standing) and Joey.

Salam. After few weeks not updating this blog, seems that I'm busy with the university life. After KTM programme, I joined Taaruf Week November 2007/2008 intake. Its been one year since the last time I joined taaruf.

Actually, I was invited by the programme manager herself, sister Analia whose a good friend of mine since we've known each other from last 2 taaruf that I've joined. Once I told her that somehow I know she would become the PM for taaruf because she had joined taaruf more than 6 times. Usually the officer will consider this as the qualifications, isn't it?

By the way, I've imported into the multimedia committee and now I've become the sub committee again. What is the best thing about being a subcom? The thing is that, I can only focus on my work to be done without having to think about others unrelated stuff. I was the head comm on last year's taaruf. I've redesign the backdrop together with the scripts using Flash 8. Besides that I've also prepared the montage of Multimedia Bureau and Sports Bureau for the Knowing You and Knowing Me slot. If you wanna take a look those videos from Taaruf week, feel free to visit my youtube website.

Its been a year since my last taaruf, so there are many new faces. It took me around 3 days to get to know them and befriend with them. Its OK. People in taaruf come and go, registered and graduated, that's how students life right?

I'm afraid this gonna be my last taaruf since I'm looking forward to do freelance or part time job starting this short semester. I'm also going for practical on the first next semester. If there's a time, I'm surely gonna join taaruf for the real last time, Insya-Allah.

Community Service Journey

For the past one week, I've been busy doing all the preparation for the 'Program Kembara Khidmat Masyarakat Bersama KTM'. My position is the head committee for Preparation, Technical and Multimedia and its my responsibility to ensure the program run smoothly with the right venue, equipment and materials.

DAY 1 - RUMAH SERI KENANGAN, KANGAR, PERLIS
Now let's recap from the first day. We departed from IIUM to KL Sentral and take the 9pm train straight to Arau, Perlis. The journey took 13 hours and its not very comfortable in the third class coach. Then we went to Rumah Seri Kenangan at Kangar to get to know the citizen and having some fun. Apparently, its very hard to have a good communication with them because I'm having trouble with understanding what they are saying. Not just me, some of the old folks also having trouble to communicate with others. I feel sympathy for them because their children sent them to this place. In the evening, I placed my signage landmark there as a token of remembrance despite looks funny on the rear side. We left for Butterworth at 5pm.

DAY 2 - SEKOLAH TUNAS BAKTI, BUTTERWORTH, PULAU PINANG
This is the school of the bad luck children who committed offenses below 18 years old. Our objective is to get to know and understand their feelings and share experience. We conducted 'Bengkel Sahsiah Remaja' with some group activities and Fear Factor challenge. Its fun to see their participation and cooperation during the program. Before we know them, we always think of how dangerous and lack of cooperation but in the end, its a happy ending. One thing for sure, they are protected under Child Act whereas we are not allowed to take their picture. The food are delicious but the accomodation is poor. What to expect if your are trying to serve the society?

DAY 3 - KAMPUNG SG. DARA AND KAMPUNG BEHRANG ULU, BEHRANG, PERAK
Next is 'Sehari Berbakti di Kg. Sg. Dara dan Kg. Behrang Ulu' and this is the best day yet the most exhausting. We have telematch in the evening with the villagers, gotong-royong for preparation of wedding ceremony and and forum at the mosque. I was the emcee for the forum and closing ceremony. The program ended at 10pm and we finally arrived UIA at 1 in the morning.

I'm glad to join in this program and eventhough its tiring, I just can't stop involve in programs. This week, I'll having Taaruf week and this is the fourth time after 1 year rest from taaruf. Till then, happy holidays to all my friends!

Happy ending

Is it a happy ending for me this semester? I don't have any idea. Everything went very fast this time and 4 months is just like 4 weeks. There are many things that happen this semester. Lets recap. Among the major events are KAED Fest, MAKUM Pantun Fest, Convest, Campus General Election, AKHI Project programs, visit to Singapore to name a few.

Besides that, I was having a hard time in time management with the courses and my social life. Design studio with the new part-time Perodua lecturer, Sports Management with the morning class, English with the term paper, materials, rendering etc. Not to forget my new room mates, AKHI members, my special ones and many more. I really enjoy all these hardship and difficulties in life because they make my life more colourful, enjoyable yet meaningful than before.

Here's a not a picture of my studio projects. The step mover and Xpax radio. I wonder if am I gonna get good grades for 'em.

After all the tiring studio works, my friends and I went to Asia Design Network Conference at MATRADE Convention Centre. There were speakers from all over east Asia, and some of them are very good. But I've fallen asleep few times. I wish I can stay awake longer but the cosy environment is very comfortable for sleeping. Guess I'm such a sleepyhead down there. It was the first time being to MATRADE as I only can see this building from far each time I heading to KL from the PLUS highway.

P/S: All the best for the final exams. May God shower His blessings on all of us and help you guys through it. InsyaAllah.

About raya celebration this time, I went for Eid prayers at Masjid Al-Ansar Taman Keramat. Then my family and I visited our relatives in Bentong, Pahang and Cheras. The second day, we went to Ipoh, Perak and visited 4 houses. On the third day, after visiting my late grandpa graveyard and visited 3 houses, we return back to KL using Route 1. PLUS highway is terribly congested as I can see from Tanjong Malim. Hence, this is the shortest 'balik kampong' I've ever experienced and the least number of houses visited, of course.

On the fourth of raya, I've already back in this lovely UIA. But there is no more late night cafe. Poor me.

AKHI Project updates

Everything runs very fast in this club. Can you imagine for the last two weeks, there are lots of programs and meetings which makes my life hectic during this fasting month. Imagine, after I've went to tarawikh prayer at mosque, I have to attend the meetings to discuss things and so on.

What's that for? There are meetings for the candidate trainer, which is supposed to be the future management board and I was one of them. I don't expect to get any position because I'm not available for months after the second semester.

So, above is the poster of the Heart of Gold III workshop. I am the Program Manager. Do you know? This is my first time being a PM for AKHI program. Its after 2 years of my involvement in this club. I hope this thing can run smoothly, InsyaAllah.

Tribute to my grandpa

It was 20th September. I was in my room where suddenly Syairazi, my cousin called me. He told me that my grandpa was just passed away. Then my mother SMS me about it. He died at 11.16am and I need to go to Ipoh for the funeral. My mum and sisters come to UIA and we went straight away to Rapat Setia in Ipoh. We arrived at 4.30pm just before Asar prayer and the Jenazah prayer.

Then, he was buried in Rapat Setia muslim cemetery. Its very sad to see him left us but we all gonna miss him. After this, I'll be having my Eid Fitr with no more grandpa, I used to call him Atok. He's not having the good or happy ending in his life. But I hope all the conflicts in my big family will end for good, call it husnul khatimah. Let's recite al-Fatihah for my Atok and let's pray so that he will live peacefully in hereafter.

This picture was taken last year during his visit to UIA. Its also another sad news knowing about the murder case of Nurin Jazlin just the same day, 20th Sept.

Singapore Heritage Study Trip

I've went to Singapore for the last mid-term break with my 45 studiomates for the Heritage and Contemporary study visit. Here's the brief journal about my trip.

Saturday - 1st September 2007
It’s the first day and I don’t wanna sleep because I’m afraid I’ll overslept and make my friend curse me. So I’ve watched few movies at my friend’s room and get prepared with stuff. After having our breakfast at KAED, we departed with UIA bus at 8 a.m.

After 2 stops at lay-bys, we reach Johor Bahru at 1 p.m. and have our lunch at Jalan Geroda. Next we checked in at Seri Malaysia Hotel and my roommates are Hakim and Reduan. We planned to do our study research at the Sultan Abu Bakar Mosque unfortunately, there was a pilgrimage course take place on that day. So, we just having fun at Danga Bay.

Late in the evening, we spent our time studying the JB city scape within Legaran Seget. It looks like Jalan TAR in KL as important nodes in JB. After having dinner at McDonalds in City Square, we went back to hotel. Late in the midnight, we’ve celebrated Najwa and Muna’s birthdays over there.

Sunday - 2nd September 2007

We went to Larkin bus terminal and from there, we took PERLING bus to go to Singapore. Yeah! Its a bit tiring going through the immigration and customs. We arrive Queen St. bus terminal around 12pm and we switched to our travelling bus. Now, I’m in the Lion City! I’m very excited to see such scenery of concrete jungle with well arranged landscape. Eventhough its just a neighbouring country, but its totally different from KL.

We went to Costa Sands Resort in Pasir Ris as we will accommodate there for 4 days and 3 nights. After having lunch, we went to Museum of Asian Civilization and do some analyses study along Telok Ayer Street. Red Dot Design Museum was just opened and we watch the exhibition of the best products design and concept there. We have our Singapore Murtabak for dinner at Victory Restaurant. Its quite thick and delicious, let’s think like a lasagna but its tasty of course.

Next, we went for a walk and sight seeing at Suntec City complex, one of the hottest shopping and business complex in this city. Fortunately, at the convention centre, it’s the last day of COMEX 07 which is a Singapore version of PC FAIR in KL. So, some of my friend and I went there to survey how the prices of those computers gadget. Its very tiring when trying to do the comparison, I need to multiply 2.3 on every stated price. In the end, I’ve just bought myself a purple-silicone rubber-foldable keyboard for S$10 (RM23) whereas Low Yat price is more than RM30. We take the bus from Esplanade and back to the resort.

Monday - 3rd September 2007

We spent some time doing study and analyzing area in Clarke Quay, which for me is a Jalan Bangsar version of Singapore, where people having their nightlife here. But we came in the morning and most shops are closed. It was raining in the evening and we have to make it through the rain from Al-Abrar mosque to the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA). URA is a DBKL but specializes for the town planning in this city. There are Singapore City Gallery that exhibits the development of the city, history and conservation and what I’m totally adore is that there are 2 models of the island and 1 focuses on the city planning.

We went to Bugis Street at 9pm. It’s a biggest covered-street shopping (like Petaling Street) in city. Its quite cheap and it’s a shopping haven for tourist and locals. I’ve bought many key chains and shirts as a souvenir for my family and friends there. But most shops closes at 10pm and we need to rush before they closed.

Tuesday - 4th September 2007

We went to Heritage Conservation Centre (HCC) at Jurong area. It’s a big storage and lab for the artifacts in Singapore. They have state of the art technology in the conservation field down there. Why doesn’t Malaysia have any place like this?

Unfortunately for that day, Farhan received a bad news about his grandfather. So he need to return to his hometown to see his grandpa but its difficult for him because he come to Singapore with a group passport. After dealing with the embassy, he managed to pass the immigration.

We had our lunch at Hjh. Maimunah Restaurant and we perform our prayers at Masjid Sultan. After window shopping at the Kg. Glam area, fortunately I’ve met with the group from HS students and its fun to meet Hidayah with her group. My next destination is the Malay Heritage Centre.

We made our own way to MRT because we want to go to Orchard Road. At the Bugis MRT station, fortunately I’ve met with Marsita and her friend. It seems like my heart beat faster as if I’m falling into her once again. The train is very crowded at that time. After switching train at City Hall, we made our way to Orchard MRT station. For me, all the shopping complexes in Orchard Road seems like the one in Bukit Bintang Road where it’s a shopping haven for the rich people. But there are also cheap stuff over there.

We return to Downtown East in Pasir Ris and we have a barbeque that night.

Wednesday - 5th September 2007

Its our last day in Singapore. We checked out at 10.30 am. We went to Masjid Asy-Syafaah in Sembawang. It’s a modern design for a mosque and it looks cool and awesome. This type of mosque is truly a resemblance of what Prophet had done which is the function of the mosque encompasses not to only as a place of worship, but also a centre for seeking information and a community centre.
After performing our prayers and having our lunch, we went to Mustafa Centre to do the last minute shopping. This place is just like Mydin in Jalan Masjid India, Kuala Lumpur where Indian community lives and doing businesses.

Late that evening, we went to the famous Singapore landmark, the Merlion Park. It’s a very nice place if you want to take pictures before leaving Singapore. Next, we went to Queen Street and take Causeway Link bus to return to Johor Bahru. We reach Woodlands at 8pm and for the whole journey to Larkin bus terminal, it takes 2 hours. UIA bus waited there and we decide to head straight to UIA because its already late.

We stop by at Pagoh RnR to have our dinner at 12am. After that, we continued or journey and it takes only 2.5 hours from Pagoh to UIA Gombak. Can you imagine how fast the bus is? Alhamdulillah all of us arrive safely from this trip and officially, I reached my beloved Bilal at 4.30am.

P/S - More pictures update soon! Its the best mid-term break ever! But life's getting hectic for the second half of this semester!!

Merdeka Break

Its been awhile since my last post. I've been quite busy with few projects and I hope to end them as soon as possible. This time project I'm gonna make a big bucks and I'm doing best for it.

OK, now its officially Malaysia has celebrated its 50 years of independence. Its 31st August right? And I'm wishing all my readers a happy independence day. My class ended at 8.30pm and I just wanna spend my Indie Eve in UIA with my peeps. Unfortunately, there's nothing special for this year. Some people say UIA cannot conduct the celebration because they want to give way to the proper and more Islamic event like the munajat and Qiyamullail. I missed my hedonistic lifestyle (what for?). Convest is just another loser, eventhough I'm one of the committee, but not committed enough.

I only went to the Convest hill on last Friday because I was terribly hungry. Please note that in UIA, they will close all the cafeteria from 5 pm till late, just to give Convest traders customers. Then what? I'm suffer because I ain't got my supper. I'm glad tonight HS cafe are back to life but only 1 stall was open. What a long wait for my meal.

However, mid term break just started and students are going back to their hometown. How about me? I've got my studio visit to Singapore. Yeah! Its Singapore & JB 2007 Heritage and Contemporary Studies. I'll be going this Saturday till Wednesday. I'm looking forward to enjoy myself after tiring whole week lately.

So, till then. I'll be back with new spirit then!

Car accident

I was involved in a small accident where my Proton Waja was kissed by a Proton Saga at the back at Jalan Taman Setiawangsa junction. Obviously its not my fault because in traffic law, whoever hits from back, its his fault.

It was my third accident actually. The first time when I was a kid, I got hit by a car when I'm riding my bicycle. The second one is when I'm learning to drive and I hit a Kancil door. This is the third time and I'm glad its not my fault.

So, I just wanna share with you guys how to handle with road accidents. Of course in the driving school they told us that we have to report the accident to the nearest police station within 24 hours. Its a bit tricky of the location of your accident. As far as I concern, if its happen within Ulu Kelang, Keramat area, the report should be made at Taman Melawati police station. If its in Kuala Lumpur area, then you have to go to Jalan Tun H.S Lee near the Petaling Street. In my case, I was just entering the KL boundaries from Keramat. Then, I have to make a long journey to the busy heart of KL. So the statement to report at any police station is so untrue. I wonder if they can standardize the function of every police station to cater this kinda problems.
Cool postcode right? This is what my father has reported.

So the important thing you should do before going to lodge the report is to check what's the time. Besides that, take note of the particular of the other driver such as name, I/C and contact number. Make sure to bring along a copy of your I/C for that purpose.

When I'm about to take the copy of the report, I thought it was free. The police will charge us for that copy which is RM4. After 2 weeks, you can obtain the diagram and picture of our car which is RM4 each and the whole total will be RM12. OK. Its not too much because that will be needed to be submitted to the insurance company.
This parking lot also have few cars that involved in accidents. Its kinda motivation for me to drive safely after this. Hey, its not my fault anyway! I'm a skillful driver, plus careful. I wonder how if the driver stuck in the hospital after an accident.. who'll do the report? Is it the passenger? How if there's no passenger?

Summer Love

Wallpaper from thetrend25

Its been awhile since I'm blogging about my personal life and its about my love life. Currently I'm dating with one of my architects in multidip project. It takes 2 months for me to get to know each other. Since then, the feelings grows but I kept it close to my heart without telling her.

When the multidip's over, I know I need to express my feelings. So, I just send her a Friendster's message. I do have fear of rejection so on the first message, I've told her how do I feel. I include few songs to describe my feelings such as Summer Love - Justin Timberlake, Because of you - Ne-yo and Hapus Aku - Nidji. At that time, I don't know how does she feels about me.

After few messages and chit-chatting, she told me that she likes me. Since I've been single for 10 months and used to flirt with girls for past few years, I think I need to change and make a first move. I've ask her to be my girlfriend and I've waited for 24 hours for her answer.

She sent some SMSs with few conditions. She wanted a long term relationship, I need to marry her some day, the relationship is pure, blessed by God, honest, loyalty, don't have to see each other frequently, don't brag about our relationship to others (how about blog about it?) and I should stop flirt with girls.

The last condition is kinda hard for me. I told her I'll change myself gradually. It was my lifestyle for past few years and somehow I need to change for the sake of our relationship. So, the date to remember is 16 June 2007, just 10 days after my birthday. I just hope that this relationship will last for good. Thank God for blessing me with this girl.

P/S - not hopeless in relationship anymore

Palace of Golden Horses

I've accompanied my dad for TM Business Program seminar at Mines Business Centre. Unexpectedly, the organizer, Faratech Sdn. Bhd. provided us with lunch at Carousel Restaurant in Palace of Golden Horses. Besides that, they also give us a free RM25 water taxi ride along the lake, which is the mines.

The landscape design is totally superb. I love the landscape. After the multidip project, I am more interested in knowing the softscapes names such as plumeria, cocos nucifera, syzigium, spider lily, helicornia etc.

About the Palace of the Golden Horses, the building design from exterior to interior is awesome. Horses has become the main motif and elements for the hotel. Even the restaurant named Carousel have lots of horse statue, as in a carousel of course. It was the best dining experience there since its free! I shouldn't have eaten rice. Its just that I've forgot that I prefer tasting delicacies rather than eating rice. By the way, the mutton tastes good. OK. Stop talking about food.

After that, we took a water taxi ride around the lake. The normal price is RM25 for adult and RM15 for children. I'm totally regret because I didn't bring any camera to capture those beautiful views over there. I wonder when is the next time I'm gonna spend my time like this.

SMART TUNNEL
Since I'm going to Sungai Besi, I'm very eager to try the new SMART tunnel. From Jalan Tun Razak, its a 4 kilometres underground tunnel and we ended up near Sg. Besi airport. But, on my way back, its kinda hard to get inside the tunnel because there are only one lane directing to the tunnel. So, make sure you keep yourself in the very right lane if you are heading KL. That evening, it was very rainy and I cannot see the traffic clearly. Alhamdulillah, there's no flash flood on my way home.

P/S - Its my first day of my holiday. What's come up next?

Turning 21 years old

First of all, I'd like to thanks those who wishes birthday to me. I really appreciate that either through SMS or Friendster.

So, from 1st June up till the time I post this blog, I've got 18 SMS and 27 Comments/Testimonials from Friendster wishing for my birthday. Pikot is the first girl sending me SMS. Dzafirah got no credit at that time, so its better late than never. Its not important either being the first of belated, the important is how your friend remember you birthday. Its not a big thing but its totally something if you value your friendship or relationship.

But seriously, I'm not good in remembering those dates. So I'm sorry if I don't wish you guys back. Friendster is a good platform for telling us our friends birthday.

Actually this is what happen that night when the clock struck 12 in the midnight. It was Tuesday night and I've got meeting. After that, I only think of doing my SketchUp for the multidip project. Seriously I forget about the date and time. Suddenly my friends said that they want to tell something and hope I don't feel bad about it. To my surprise.. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Damn! How can I forget about it? As soon after that, I keep receiving SMS but I keep doing my job till morning.

I don't know when or where to celebrate this birthday. I still remember the last years celebration with my GEMINI friends in UIA. I've can't wait to finish multidip project and settle things down next week. So, if you wanna wish for my birthday, the next is 6/6/2008. Put a reminder on your handphone and please tell me your name in the message. Its funny to see how I don't know people who wishes for my birthday through SMS.

Baktisiswa Kg. Pasir

I've joined Program Rakan Muda Wawasan Desa IPT at Kg. Pasir, Kuala Kubu Bharu from 3-6 May 2007. Actually, its just the same as in Kg. Lambor Kanan, Perak last year and this time, its kinda different.

Last time, me and Huzaifah lived with the old parents but this time, me, Ikhwan and Bakhtiar stayed with the whole family including 3 of their children. Our house is the farthest house among the participants. We also need to drive a car because 3 of us won't fit in a motorcycle.

I also have made a few international friends because there are Sevgi and Gulcan from Turkey, Saeed and Yoseof from Yaman as well as Adnan (India) and Miranti (Indonesia). I've learn some Turkey phrase and speaks Indonesian with Miranti n Yoesof.

This time, I have to design and construct the landmark for the village. As usual, its a simple signage but its easier to be constructed if I do it in KAED workshop with the machines. I don't know how long it will last but I think its nice eventhough its kinda odd to see such thing there.

4 days is better than 3 days because we have more time with the family. I slept in the living room and watched ASTRO with the family. Celcom coverage is very poor in Taman Lembah Damai. They treated me as their own family, that's why I love this family very much. I hope I can come again to this place some day.

Data Recovered

Alhamdulillah. Finally after more than 2 months since I've loss my partition, I manage to get them back. Thanks to Bro. Rizwan from Creative Vision Technology for helping me recover them. If you have any trouble with your PC, call 03-78458482.

He's offering a very good service mostly for computer servicing and repairing at affordable prices. Guess what? For Recovering the loss partition and relocation of bad sector, he only charges me around RM200. Bear in mind that I've lost around 60GB and my hard disk is 120 GB. I went to Low Yat Plaza last month and for the same service, one outlet said that I'll need RM800 to recover my data. So, which one's better?

However, there's some problem right now. Its not a big deal anyway. What I want the most from the loss is the memory especially my pictures. Can you imagine if you put all of your pictures, from varied occasions into one folder? And rename all of them the same name? So, that's my problem. I need to sort them back into proper folder. Select them one by one and move them. I bet its gonna be a very tiring process.

Here's the snapshot of the JPEG folder. There are 18,204 images with 5.72GB capacity.

P/S - I swear I'm gonna burn all of them into DVDs

2 Weeks Break

2 weeks is very short! What have I done for this very short holiday? Usually, for the past 3 holidays, I've been working as Ta'aruf week committee and this time, I didn't.

Lulu and I during Ta'aruf

Lots of people ask me why I'm not into Ta'aruf this time. Actually, I wanna take a rest this time. My parents have been complaining that I'm not spending quality time with them during holidays. Family first right? Second, I wish to see the new successor in the multimedia committee. So that, in the next time, I won't have to become in multimedia again. I love doing it but I wish to improve myself with other human skills such as in Program Coordinator, Da'wah & Ibadah or Preparation & Technical bureau. Third, my machine is not in very good shape if I'm joining multimedia that time. Its just another lame excuse eh?

So, briefly, in this 2 weeks, I've done pretty lots of thing I guess.
  1. Become the driver for my sisters, back and forth to PutraLRT and tuition class
  2. New blog layout design
  3. New myspace layout design
  4. Closed BCB account (now CIMB)
  5. Watch drama series in ASTRO and VCD
  6. Bought a new multimedia keyboard at Low Yat - is it necessary?
  7. Accompany my dad to Pangkor Island
  8. Visit Taaruf Week operation room at UIA
  9. Visit CBN Carnival day

About the blog layout design, I've inspired it from modern web 2.0 style. Very simple and minimal. I named it Minimal v1.0. It took me few days to design from scratch. Its a bit tricky when applying the style because of the blogger script need to be combine with CSS and HTML. Besides, I need to be online always to check the design adaptability. Without internet connection, its quite difficult for the first time working in new Blogger Google style.

ASTRO offers lots of drama series and my favourite channel is AXN, StarWorld and Astro Prima. Among the series that I watched are CSI New York & Vegas, House, Prison Break, Heroes, Wah Cantiknya 1 & 2, Hikmah 3 etc. For VCD I've watched Gokusen 1 & 2, Hana Yori Dango 2 and Daughter in Law. There should be more on the list but these are my favourite series.

Finally, I will start my 8 weeks short semester this Monday 23rd. I'm glad and grateful for my last semester result since I've got another dean's list for the third time. I hope this short sem with 1 subject, I can upgrade my pointer eventhough its a bit tricky.

Bus

I went to Pangkor Island with my dad from Tuesday till Wednesday. We took bus from Kuala Lumpur to Lumut and also a ferry to cross the sea. So, I'm not gonna blog about my vacation in Pangkor instead I wanna talk about bus.

I'm not very used to travel with bus especially from Puduraya to somewhere else. Its just my observation that today's bus is not as 20 years ago. During my primary schools, I've started taking 'Bas Sri Jaya' and pink mini bus. After that, there's Intrakota, Metrobus and Cityliner generation. Now its RapidKL and surviving Metrobus public buses.

Besides that, express buses also have their revolution. From standard 2+2 seating arrangements and now there's 2+1 seating which promises more comfortableness to the passengers. Besides that, the Plusliner bus have 2+2 seating in the front and 1+1+1 at the rear part of the bus. This is new to me because I'm not used with buses right?

Besides that, design is very much needed in the transportation design. I'm totally awed with the side mirror of buses which looks like an insects' antennae. Last semester my third year senior designed a bus that can serve the function as an open stage. That's pretty cool eh. Where else? I guess its the graphic on the side of the bus.

My lecturer claimed that he designed the graphic for UIAM buses. For me its OK. Instead I prefer the graphic design on UiTM buses. I hate the shuttle bus service in UIA because boys won't feel like using it. If only the Transport Unit buy a couple of Mercedes Benz buses just like the RapidKL, I bet I'm no longer walk to my kulliyah anymore.

Walking is fun. I can think lots and lots of think, about my design, my problems and sometimes its fun when accidentally you can meet with your friends or girlfriends. Besides, you can get to know what happen to the university if there's a program, exhibition, stalls etc. I've regretted when I ride with my friends' car or motorcycle, I will miss any happenings in the university, just because we ride on the outer road.

That's all about bus then. I wonder when I'm gonna hop on the KL HOP ON HOP OFF (picture above) bus.

Kem Bina Insan

It was a 3 day program from 6-8 April, called Kem Bina Insan 1 at Sekolah Menengah Agama Mahmudy (SMAM), Kg. Awah, Chenor, Pahang. Since Sister Salmiha which graduates last year has become part time teacher in this school, she invited fellow members from AKHI Project to be the facilitators and committee members for this event.

SMAM was a Sekolah Agama Rakyat (SAR) and I never thought about SAR until I stepped into this school. Few years back, there was a controversy regarding this issue. Now the school is categorised as Sekolah Agama Bantuan Kerajaan. However, the facility and infrastructure is poor. At least I can bear for 2 nights with it.

There are two education system in the school, academic and tahfiz. There are more boys than girls. For tahfiz, there are only boys students, ranging from 13-20 and also some Indonesian and Brunei student.

How about the program? I was a facilitator for group 3, paired with Saidatul Nadiah with 20 boys students from form 1 to form 3. They are not that participative compared to AKHI mentees. Quite passive and lazy. I guess this is among the challenges for me since its the first time facilitating secondary school students. Hey, there was 1 time when I was in SM Teknik, I facilitate my classmates. That's how I've started and interested in such activities.

I'm so not me.
My friend, Fitrah Muda brought her Indonesian girl named Miranti. She has a cute baby face look. Usually, I'll be interested to get to know beautiful girl but I don't talk with her at all. I only made some meaningless eye contact.

What else? Since we brought in the name and image of UIA, I need to observe my behaviour and muamalah. And since the program was in a religious school, I don't have the chance to get to know the girl students through LDK. So, in the last day after the closing ceremony, most of the students will get our contact numbers. I just stay out of the hall so that they won't get mine.

Why am I such an egoistic idiot? I don't know them personally and I don't think I can make it. And I can't help myself to flirt with any school girl no more. Plus they are from religious school.

After the program finished, we went to Syarah's house at Bera to have a food party. We arrived UIA at 730pm.
