HIDUP BERANI UNTUK GAGAL

Salam. Hidup berani untuk gagal, atau dalam bahasa Inggerisnya, "Live dare to fail" (lebih kurang). Disebabkan blog aku pun berjudul Warna Kehidupan, kejayaan dan kegagalan turut mewarnai kehidupan setiap orang. Tak mungkin ada orang yang tak pernah merasai kegagalan dalam hidup.

Tapi, aku lebih suka kepada frasa 'hidup berani tanggung risiko'. Lebih kurang juga maksudnya di mana seseorang itu digalakkan untuk mengambil risiko demi mencapai kejayaan. Lagipun ia berbunyi lebih positif dari 'hidup berani untuk gagal' yang berbunyi agak negatif.

Hidup bagaikan roda, kadang-kala kita di atas dan kadang-kala di bawah. Kejayaan dan kegagalan pun macam tu jugak. Tapi aku yakin, melalui kegagalanlah aku dapat belajar lebih mendalam dan melihat yang tersirat, serta membuatkan aku lebih berhati-hati untuk mencapai cita-cita aku.

Dalam Al-Quran, Allah berfirman dalam Surah At-Taubah ayat 105, "Dan katakanlah wahai Muhammad “Hendaklah kamu semua berusaha (beramal) kerana Allah akan melihat dan menilai apa yang kamu usahakan.” Maka sebagai umat Islam, kita kenalah berusaha bersungguh-sungguh untuk mencapai kejayaan, walaupun ada kalanya kita menghadapi kegagalan.

Minggu ni aku pun baru melalui satu lagi episod malang, kiranya aku gagal untuk berfikir dan meramal insiden yang akan terjadi. Tapi nasi dah jadi bubur, nak buat macam mana lagi. Aku harus tabahkan diri, mental dan emosi. Alang-alang aku update blog, aku pun cuba sertai pertandingan HIDUP BERANI UNTUK GAGAL anjuran Denaihati.

Wajah dan pengisian baru

Salam. Seperti yang anda boleh saksikan, blog ini telah berwajah baru. Selama ini aku keliru bagaimana pengisian yang sesuai untuk kedua-dua blog aku. Maka kali ini, aku memutuskan untuk menjadikan kedua-dua blog berbeza antara satu sama lain.

Warna Kehidupan
Blog ini akan membicarakan pengalaman hidupku, disamping isu semasa yang berkaitan dengan Islam serta sedikit perkongsian ilmu, yang sahih yang diperolehi dari sumber rujukan yang boleh dipercayai. Blog ini akan menggunakan bahasa melayu sepenuhnya dan disasarkan kepada pembaca Melayu Nusantara.

Mulai 2010, blog AK.com akan dihiasi dengan artikel dan kompilasi bertemakan rekabentuk, teknologi serta pembangunan laman web. Blog tersebut juga akan menggunakan bahasa Inggeris sepenuhnya dan disasarkan kepada pembaca berbahasa Inggeris di seluruh dunia.

Mulai tahun 2010 juga, aku akan cuba untuk mengemaskini blog ini sekurang-kurangnya dua minggu sekali, InsyaAllah.

Penulis baru Warna Kehidupan

Salam buat semua pembaca yang budiman. Entri ringkas kali ni aku nak memperkenalkan penulis kedua untuk blog Warna Kehidupan yang lebih mesra dikenali sebagai myss. Beliau merupakan seorang pelajar jurusan senibina di salah sebuah universiti di Kuala Lumpur. Sebelum menulis untuk blog, beliau juga aktif dalam menerbitkan risalah ringkas di fakulti beliau kerana rasa terpanggil untuk memberi peringatan kepada diri sendiri, juga rakan dan taulan di dunia yang mengasyikkan dan menghanyutkan ini.

Untuk pengetahuan semua, blog ini akan dikemaskini dengan entri baru seminggu sekali. InsyaAllah selepas ni, blog ini akan lebih berseri dengan kehadiran penulis wanita yang comel ini. Kalau dah ada dua orang, pasti anda boleh perhatikan dua gaya penulisan yang berbeza dalam blog ni. Senang sikit la kerja aku lepas ni. Banyak sangat blog nak kena jaga.

P/S - kalau nak tinggal mesej dalam shoutbox, sila nyatakan mesej tu untuk siapa. Nanti aku ingat mesej aku pulak. Ataupun nak buat dua shoutbox?

Blogging sepatutnya mudah

Salam buat pembaca dan pengunjung. Dah dua minggu blog ini dibiarkan sepi tanpa entri segar. Kali ni sekadar nak meluahkan isu blogging lagi. Alhamdulillah, sudah lebih 4 tahun aku menulis blog. Tapi makin lama, kurasakan menulis blog macam tak semudah dulu. Di sini, saja nak luahkan beberapa perkara membuatkan caraku blog yang semakin rumit. Yang ni aku nak merujuk kepada blog rasmi bahasa inggeris ku, AdlanKhalidi.com .

1. Isi
Dulu aku blog untuk suka-suki dan tak perlu fikirkan isi yang bermanfaat untuk pembaca. Sebab aku cuma menulis untuk kepuasan diri sendiri dan juga agar aku dapat berkongsi dengan pengunjung yang MUNGKIN terjumpa blogku. Tapi sekarang, aku masih menulis perkara yang kusuka. Tetapi aku mahukannya lebih bermanfaat untuk pembaca. Aku tak mahu pencari maklumat di Google yang tiba di blog ku, meninggalkan blogku dengan hampa. Itulah sebabnya, menulis sesuatu yang santai dan dapat memberikan manfaat kepada pembaca memang agak RUMIT. Perlukan pembacaan yang MELUAS, informasi yang TERKINI dan maklumat yang TEPAT sebelum aku dapat menerbitkan sebuah entri.

2. Gambar
Aku dulu sekadar menaip tanpa gambar. Yang penting ialah maklumat yang ingin disampai. Tapi sekarang, gambar untuk setiap entri pasti akan memberikan impak yang lebih terhadap blogku. Manusia memproses maklumat lebih pantas melalui visual berbanding teks. Aku juga seorang pelajar rekabentuk. Sudah pasti otak ku lebih mudah membaca dan menafsir gambar daripada tulisan. Tetapi, aku lebih suka meletakkan gambar daripada koleksi ku daripada orang lain.

3. Watermark
Tapi, gambar saja tak memadai. Aku takkan letak gambar semata-mata. Aku akan pastikan pada setiap gambar itu ada 'watermark' atau penanda-air (terjemahan langsung yang tidak tepat) yang mengandungi 'caption' dan juga 'adlankhalidi.com' untuk entri tersebut. Untuk proses ini, aku perlu untuk membuka perisian Photoshop, menaip dan menyesuaikan warna tulisan dengan gambar agar mudah dilihat. Lihat betapa banyaknya proses ini. Itu antara sebab gaya blogging ku bertambah rumit.

Sekian, kepalaku sudah bertambah rumit. Akan bersambung rintihan hatiku untuk entri yang akan datang.

P/S - panjang la pulak.. tahniah kerana berjaya baca sampai habis.

Rekabentuk dan susun atur Blog

Salam. Walaupun dah mengantuk tapi saja nak tulis pasal blog design ni. Walaupun aku suka design blog sendiri, tapi kenapa blog aku ini nampak biasa je?

Cuba teka siapa yang mereka tema Tekka ini? Ia telah direka oleh Glish.com dan blog pereka itu pun sama saja macam blogku ini. Antara blogger yang terkenal yang guna tema ini ialah FaisalTehrani. Tema ini dikategorikan sebagai 'liquid width' atau lebar cecair. Pelik terjemahannya. Tapi kelebihannya tema ini akan memaparkan isi blog sehingga penuh satu browser. Cuba kurangkan lebar browser anda. Anda akan dapati cuma barsisi (sidebar) saja mempunyai lebar yang tetap. Menarik bukan?

Soalnya, kenapa sangat ringkas? Ada orang suka yang ringkas dan ada orang suka yang penuh warna warni. Mungkin AdlanKhalidi.com (yang servernya sedang down tatkala entri ini ditulis) kelihatan penuh grafik tetapi aku inginkan kelainan untuk WK. Setiap blog perlu ada identiti masing-masing. Sama ada dari susun atur mahupun isi kandungannya.

Tetapi apa yang paling penting ialah isi kandungannya. Blog yang menarik dan mempunyai beribu-ribu pelawat seperti CheDet.com tidak perlukan rekabentuk yang padat dengan grafik. TDM sendiri faham yang pembacanya dahagakan maklumat dan ilmu pengetahuan.

Sebenarnya tidak salah untuk menggunakan tema yang padat dengan grafik. Zaman sekarang sudah ada Streamyx dan jalur lebar tanpa wayar. Tiada masalah untuk memuatkan segala grafik dan info dalam masa yang singkat. Tetapi kena ingat, walau bagaimana canggih pun, kalau kelajuan tahap GPRS, jangan harap dapat memuatkan blog yang padat dengan grafik dengan pantas. Blog yang menggunakan pelbagai HTML dan Javascript juga agak lambat untuk dimuatkan. Banyak lagi isu yang berkaitan dengan soal kelajuan web dan blog.

Sebenarnya, aku masih lagi belum berkesempatan untuk merekabentuk blog ini. Itu antara sebabnya aku menggunakan template sedia ada. InsyaAllah dalam sebulan dua lagi, selepas aku tamat menuntut koding Blogger XML yang agak mengelirukan.

New beginning

New semester just begun with new spirit and energy. I'm quite busy with few university programs. I'm currently the head committee multimedia for 3 events which are 2nd IIUM Humanitarian Week, Islamic Performing Arts Concert (IPAC) and also International Angklung Concert. In these 3 big university events, I hope I can delegate my work well so that I can concentrate as well on my studies. I know I wanted my work to be on every multimedia stuff but sometimes I feel quite boring to see my design or my style. Different people different style and that adds variety.

OK, that's all about university program. Back to my studio life, we need to organize an exhibition based on our heritage and contemporary studies in Singapore and JB last time. Apart of the exhibition, we also need to have side events. This sounds like KAED Fest but in a smaller scale and I'm not the Program Manager anymore. I was appointed to organize a side event which is originally a Zapin Competition. Since most universities are still having their vacation, I've changed it to Traditional Dance Challenge which is open for secondary school around Selangor and KL. But since both students and teachers are on their holidays, my last resort would be a stage performance of traditional and modern.

Next is my personal life. I think its getting better. We've known each other for more than 8 months and our friendship is getting stronger day by day. I hope this will last for good, InsyaAllah.

There are few more things that I'll add up for the new year wish list. I wanna upgrade my machine and maybe a goodbye to Blogger and hi to my own domain with Wordpress engine.

Taaruf Week Nov 07/08

Salam. After few weeks not updating this blog, seems that I'm busy with the university life. After KTM programme, I joined Taaruf Week November 2007/2008 intake. Its been one year since the last time I joined taaruf.

Actually, I was invited by the programme manager herself, sister Analia whose a good friend of mine since we've known each other from last 2 taaruf that I've joined. Once I told her that somehow I know she would become the PM for taaruf because she had joined taaruf more than 6 times. Usually the officer will consider this as the qualifications, isn't it?

By the way, I've imported into the multimedia committee and now I've become the sub committee again. What is the best thing about being a subcom? The thing is that, I can only focus on my work to be done without having to think about others unrelated stuff. I was the head comm on last year's taaruf. I've redesign the backdrop together with the scripts using Flash 8. Besides that I've also prepared the montage of Multimedia Bureau and Sports Bureau for the Knowing You and Knowing Me slot. Its been a year since my last taaruf, so there are many new faces. It took me around 3 days to get to know them and befriend with them. Its OK. People in taaruf come and go, registered and graduated, that's how students life right?

I'm afraid this gonna be my last taaruf since I'm looking forward to do freelance or part time job starting this short semester. I'm also going for practical on the first next semester. If there's a time, I'm surely gonna join taaruf for the real last time, Insya-Allah.

Happy ending

Is it a happy ending for me this semester? I don't have any idea. Everything went very fast this time and 4 months is just like 4 weeks. There are many things that happen this semester. Lets recap. Among the major events are KAED Fest, MAKUM Pantun Fest, Convest, Campus General Election, AKHI Project programs, visit to Singapore to name a few.

Besides that, I was having a hard time in time management with the courses and my social life. Design studio with the new part-time Perodua lecturer, Sports Management with the morning class, English with the term paper, materials, rendering etc. Not to forget my new room mates, AKHI members, my special ones and many more. I really enjoy all these hardship and difficulties in life because they make my life more colourful, enjoyable yet meaningful than before.

Here's a not a picture of my studio projects. The step mover and Xpax radio. I wonder if am I gonna get good grades for 'em.

After all the tiring studio works, my friends and I went to Asia Design Network Conference at MATRADE Convention Centre. There were speakers from all over east Asia, and some of them are very good. But I've fallen asleep few times. I wish I can stay awake longer but the cosy environment is very comfortable for sleeping. Guess I'm such a sleepyhead down there. It was the first time being to MATRADE as I only can see this building from far each time I heading to KL from the PLUS highway.

Ramadhan Karim

Its another Ramadhan for me but this time its the last Ramadhan that I'll have it in UIA. Next year, I'm gonna do my practical so, I wanna do better this time. Not like last year, too many nonsense and crap. I don't wanna get just the hunger and thirst, I wanna get more reward this time. I hope I can perform tarawikh prayer every single night in this month, unlike last years.

This is one of the weird but interesting post. Somehow people can think what kinda song I'm into right now. I listen to all sort of songs in my computer. Don't have any playlist yet. I'm gonna tag Pikot, Szakif, Fairuz, Pzin and Johnna Analia. Wonder what are you listening right now..

Spiderman 3

I watched Spiderman 3 at MBO Galaxy Ampang on 1st May, the first show was on 1215pm. I don't have to queue because I've bought the ticket 3 days earlier. As usual, I prefer to watch alone because in that way, I can focus on the movie.

I think Spiderman 3 is the best among the previous movies. Its a good blend and mix of the reality and science fiction stuff. Its quite impossible to see human DNA can be altered easily such as the Sandman. I like the part where Parker become such an aggressive person after being dominated by the DARK side of him.

However the villain characters weren't developed properly. I've always wanted to see how they will get married, in church or on hilltop (as Parker always imagined). The visual effects is great from the flying sand and slithering dark element.

I wonder how does it feel like being evil. For those who knows me well, I'm quite an annoying person. Sometimes, its good to be bad right? At the blogthings.com quiz, I'm 46% evil. "You are evil, but you haven't yet mastered the dark side. Fear not though - you are on your way to world domination."

I've been tagged by Azuwachan, about my least favourite colour. Based on the rainbow colours and my personal collection, I don't wear yellow a lot. I'm not interested to be in yellow because it sounds like coward. (not relevant?)

Bloggers watch out

This is the latest issue regarding to the blogger in Malaysia. When I read about it in Utusan Malaysia, I was surprised that our Prime Minister mentioning about the blogging stuff. I wonder what's the big issue here. Here's what I've found in The Star Online.

Bloggers must be responsible

LONDON: Bloggers must be responsible for what they write on the Internet as there are laws on defamation and sedition, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said.

The Prime Minister said these laws were enforceable and bloggers must bear in mind that they could not hide or take advantage of the Internet to do something that was against the law.

"They cannot hope to cover themselves or hide from the laws," he told Malaysian journalists at the end of his three-day working visit here yesterday.

He said bloggers, just like newspaper journalists, must be responsible for what they wrote or risk facing legal action from others.

By the way, I've found out that its about Rocky's Bru blogspot. So, what's the lesson from this case? What's the ethics in posting blogs?

For me, blog is just like a website and its a medium for disseminate information. Just like newspaper or magazine. The different is that, people from all over the world might visit and read your blog. In this case, we are the author, editor and publisher.

By the way, I hope that from now on, be a bit careful if you are blogging about the national issue. Mmm.. but young bloggers don't care about such issue. Isn't it?

One more the important stuff in posting stuff is that the citation. Its just like putting REFERENCE in your assignments. Its very simple. Just put the person's name or the websites' URL whenever you mention about them. If you have taken the picture from somewhere else, just give a credit to the website. Simple!

2006 Recap

Its the last day of the year 2006. Tomorrow, its 2007 and 2006 will be history. I don't wanna post about 2006 recap here, just few topics beside summarizing my 2006.

Resolutions.. Do you still remember what you've got in your mind on the 1st January 2006? What goals you're wishing for? If you've read about my resolutions here, I'm wishing for..

1. Expand my network in UIA
Yeah, I did. I've joined lots of program such as Taaruf, Humanitarian, Ummatic, KAED Fest etc.. I've managed to gain more friends from various Kulliyahs. My life's feel good because eventhough they're only greet when you come across them, but its better than walking without anyone recognize you. Sometimes I feel like celebrity where they call me by my name but I've forgotten theirs. I'm not good in remembering names. Sorry guys.

2. Contribute more to the community
Yes, mission accomplished. I've done it through AKHI Project and CENSERVE Team. I've contributed my design and multimedia skills to many university's programs. I've also has brushed up my communication and leadership skills through these programs.

3. Gain ideal weight
Hehe.. guess its not achieved yet. I'm still underweight. My Body Mass Index (BMI) doesn't reach 20 where its the ideal index. I only gain around 5 kgs throughout this year. Its just a matter of gaining 6 kgs for ideal weight.

4. Serious short term relationship
I've did. Our relationship only last around 1 month and 10 days. Its quite short rite? Why it ends up so soon?

Now, let's turn to serious topic.

Earthquake & Internet
It was Wednesday when my lecturer informed me about the slow internet connection due to the earthquake. I don't believe it but when I've tried at ITD on Thursday, yes. Damn slow! Its hard to connect to the international server. Some of my favourite websites are Yahoo!, Google, Friendster and Blogspot. I only can open Yahoo but I couldn't check my emails. Besides that, local websites such as UIA and Utusan don't have any problems. Its such a nightmare if you can't use the internet when your business totally depend on them.

Floods & Global Warming
Its quite scary when you thinking about the future. Just look at the flood in Johore itself, luckily most of my friends' house survived the flood. I remembered the movie 'The Day After Tomorrow' when the global warming effect such as storm, typhoon, flood and earthquakes happens and the climate changes. I don't know what the future holds for me. Let's pray for a better future from now on.
